We are well and truly into the new year, leaving 2018 behind us and looking forward to the year ahead with a clean slate.
This is a great time to reflect on our successes (and setbacks) from the last year, and really focus on what we want to achieve this year as a wedding directory business.
MyShaadi officially launched in June 2018 after over a year in prototyping, design and development. The journey to launch wasn’t easy as there were many boundaries to overcome, such as making the onboarding process as easy as possible, or even how to best allow suppliers to communicate with potential customers.
Being the new wedding app on the block, we have been able to remain agile and make quick updates to our app and online platform to ensure our users can take full advantage of all the features with ease. Thus, MyShaadi has gone through various updates and iterations since launch.
We launched with a business model that allowed suppliers to join on a free trial basis, but needed to enter their payment details so that after the allotted trial, they move onto a paid plan. We found this didn’t particularly work very well as we were still a new and unproven business, and customers just didn’t want to provide their payment details upfront without testing the platform.
Quickly identifying this issue, we changed our procing model to allow an always free account type, and we’ve noticed a big improvement in the number of signups from businesses.
Since launched we have listened to our customer’s feedback and have implemented updates to both the website and app. But we know there is still so much more potential with this platform.
So in the new year ahead we will be looking to build on what we have learnt since launch, and expand our platform into a fully fledged directory website. Up until now, users can only access the directory from the app, as we thought this was a lot more convenient for the end user; being able to search and communicate with suppliers from anywhere. However, we’ve found there is still a demand for an website based platform.
We will also be making huge improvements on the supplier dashboard; adding more features and functionality as well as extra services that will make your subscription with us even more valuable. More details on these features will be posted in due course once we have built the features and are ready to launch.
